Evolution Basketball

Evolution BasketballEvolution Basketball offers small group and private basketball training, camps and clinics to young men and women in the Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C. area. Their programs are available year round and are open to beginners all the way up to college recruits. Evolution had always maintained a content rich site but when it began to use social media extensively, the site did not prove flexible enough. Further, having been designed in Front Page, the client found web page editing difficult and file uploading almost impossible. AWS developed an information architecture that incorporated the client’s social media outlets and an integrated blogging platform. AWS developed a new user interface and presented the client with several design mockups. AWS selected WordPress as the content management platform as it was flexible enough to accommodate the project requirements and extendible to meet future needs. The client wanted to continue to maintain the site content as well as expand the site (regularly blog entries, new web pages, etc.). The client was thrilled at how easy it was to edit existing content, create new web pages, and even manage the slideshow graphics on the homepage using the WordPress administrative interface.

NAVVUS

The NAVVUS website was a ground up design and development project.  AWS created several design mock ups for client review and then implemented WordPress as the content management solution.  Despite selecting a mobile responsive child theme, adapting the design and interactive elements to work on mobile devices proved a challenge.  While yet to be officially launched, AWS can proudly say that this design and development project presented a great opportunity to allow us to implement interactive elements and extend many WordPress capabilities.

Nova Heat

AWS was asked to stand up a website for a new competitive AAU program in the Northern Virginia area Nova Heat.  The design had already been created so AWS proposed using the content management system, CMS Made Simple, thinking it would be easier to adapt the CMS to the design than the design to the CMS.  This website development project was filled with interactive requests which AWS accomplished through the customization of various widgets and plugins including a homepage slider, blog, latest news, calendar, and photo gallery.  Sponsors are a critical component to the success of this AAU program so a special area of the website was carved out specifically for sponsor promotion.

Siloquent

SiloquentSiloquent approached AWS to develop their website.  The company was interested in a mobile friendly site that focuses on its core business solutions.  The client also requested a homepage image slider.  AWS selected WordPress as the content management platform.  AWS felt WordPress would offer a flexible platform to meet the clients content and functionality requirements.

Kabab and Curry House

Kabab and Curry House homepageThe Kabab and Curry House wanted a more effective website to attract customers and market to the local university students. AWS created a one-page WordPress installation with the restaurant menu, and set up a Facebook page with a link over to the site. The restaurant was established in 2009 and had several Yelp reviews, so AWS added the Yelp widget to the website, and the URL to the Yelp profile. By using appropriate SEO techniques on the website, creating the Facebook page, and updating the Yelp profile, AWS maximized traffic flow to the restaurant’s menu, resulting in more business. As the menu changes, the restaurant staff can easily update items and prices on their own.

Kevin Quinley, LLC

Kevin Quinley, LLCKevin Quinley had a website in place, but it was being phased out by the hosting company. Kevin contacted AWS needing his current site content and domain name moved over to a new hosting environment, including his online store for publications and his separately-hosted blog. AWS installed and configured WordPress to house his site content, an events plugin for his speaking schedule, his blog, the Shopp plugin for his store items, and various social media add-ons to feature his Twitter and YouTube content. Kevin’s online presence was transitioned seamlessly, while adding key features and updating his design.

Their new website provides them with a central repository of legal documents, contact information, homeowner resources, and the latest community news. Meredith Gelman, LCSW

Meredith GelScreen capture of the Meredith Gelman website.man approached AWS to help her establish a web presence for her growing therapy practice.  She had an online web presence but it was limited to contact information and a summary overview of her services.   In addition to promoting her services and providing valuable resources to current and potential clients, Ms. Gelman was eager to establish a blog.  AWS helped Meredith Gelman from conception to implementation with selecting a domain name, securing a web host, creeating an information architecture and developing design comps.  AWS selected WordPress as the most appropriate content management and blogging tool.

Nova Properties

Nova PropertiesNova Properties is a full service real estate firm serving Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, Fairfax and Loudoun Counties. They approached AWS because their website was very limited in terms of functionality and in need of a facelift.  Nova Properties was particularly interested in the property management solution AWS had implemented for Fall Properties.  They were eager to manage all areas of their site content – not just the property-specific pages. AWS designed a new look for the site that was flexible to accommodate growth and expansion of navigational elements and implemented the property management solution.  Nova Properties currently manages all aspects of their website without technical HTML knowledge.
